St Helena Hospice Half Marathon 2025

My Story
I’m running the St Helena Hospice Half Marathon in aid of St Helena Hospice.
This year my lovely cousin Sammy sadly lost her battle with cancer. St Helena Hospice were there for her and her family in so many ways, giving comfort and care when needed most. I'm doing this in her memory and also for other close friends I know who St Helena have supported.
😬 I’m not a runner – until last year I’d never run more than 5k (and even that felt tough!). I only started parkrun after my husband Allan had a severe stroke, encouraged by his work friend as a way to get me out, and then, completely out of the blue, I got a ballot place for the London Marathon 2026. So this half-marathon felt like the perfect way to prepare, while also raising money for a cause that means so much.
Sammy spent her final days at St Helena Hospice, surrounded by the most incredible doctors, nurses, volunteers, counsellors, and the staff. They treated her with such dignity and kindness, and supported her close family through the hardest of times. I know that support was so appreciated, and by fundraising we can help make sure other families get the same care and compassion.
If you’re able to, please donate and help me raise as much as possible for St Helena Hospice. Every penny makes a difference. 💖
